While stationed in Yuma, Arizona, Vic met the love of his life, Nancy Hartley, and they were married on June 4, 1966 in Yuma. She preceded him in death August 10, 2014.

Vic started his career with GE Telephone Company until he decided to take the leap as an entrepreneur in 1976 and bought Green Acres Lawn and Garden Center. He then bought a Dairy Queen franchise, and lastly co-owned Coenen Furniture Store in Manitowoc with his wife working by his side for all.
