Actor and theatre manager. He appeared with William Macready as Florizel in "The Winter's Tale in 1837 and subsequently appeared as Berowne (Love's Labour's Lost), Romeo, Iago and Cassio. He also played Othello, Orlando, Falconbridge, Posthumus, Anthony ("Julius Caesar" and "Anthony and Cleopatra"), Richard I and mercutio at Drury Lane Theatre, from 1849 to 1851. He died from the effects of a mugging.
