Olga Rapo, 94 Southbridge - Olga (Athanas) Rapo, 94, of Ridgewood Ave., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 23rd, in the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, after a long illness. Her husband, Michael Spiro Rapo, died in 1998. She leaves her two sons, Costa Rapo and his wife Sonja of Southbridge and Paul Rapo and his wife Anne of Middle Haddam, CT; her daughter, Louisa Nasse and her husband Sonny of Holland; her sister, Tefta Gillcrist of Schiller Park, Ill; her three grandchildren, Kerrie Mason and her husband Gary of Charlton, Melissa Richardson of Charlton and Jessica Andrews of Agawam; two great grandchildren, Olivia Richardson and Hannah Mason; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six brothers, Arthur Athanas, Salvatore "Skip" Athanas, George Athanas, Andrew Athanas, Dhimitri Athanas and Paul Athanas and a sister, Margaret Alexion. She was born in Boston the daughter of Louis and Constantina (Anastas) Athanas. Olga worked at the American Optical Co. in Southbridge for 32 years, retiring many years ago. She was a member of the American Optical Quarter Century Club. She was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Albanian Orthodox Church in Southbridge and was a member of its Daughters of St. Nicholas Society. Olga was a recipient of the St. Constantine and St. Helen Albanian Metal from the Arch Diocese of America and its Bishop for exemplary service to the church. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27th, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a service at 11:00am in St. Nicholas Albanian Orthodox Church, Morris St., Southbridge. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge.
