WALLERSTEIN, Bette Rosenbush, 85, affectionately known by her family as "DoeDoe," died on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Born on her mother's birth date, she was preceded in death by her parents, Bertram J. and Miriam S. Rosenbush; and by her granddaughter, Miriam K. "Mimi" Wallerstein. Survivors include her children, Sandra W. Friend (Jim), The Honorable Richard S. Wallerstein Jr. (Leah Darron) and Susan G. Wallerstein; as well as a brother, Bert Rosenbush Jr. (Mary Louise). DoeDoe adored her grandchildren, Jonathan (Mandy), Scott (Robyn), Ashley and Adair; and her great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Emily, Jordan and Joshua. She was a lifelong member of Congregation Beth Ahabah. Although a Life Master Bridge player, an avid social Mahjong player and the 2015 recipient of the MCV Shining Knight trauma award, DoeDoe most cherished her family and friends. The family wishes to thank Sharlene Staten and Tracey Brice for their loving care. Stories about DoeDoe may be shared with the family from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 25, at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Avenue. Private services will be held at a later date.
