She was born in Harlan, Kentucky on March 21, 1931 the daughter of the late George Omar Pollitte and Clara Rebecca Beckett Pollitte. Survivors include her husband of sixty-seven years, Richard Lee Browning; her children, Richard L. Browning, Jr. (Lisa) of Harlan, KY, Deborah Green (A. J.) of Georgetown, KY and Denver Ray Browning, II (Ann) of LaFollette, TN; seven grandchildren, Aaron Browning (Brooke), Arika Gibbs (Paul), Jessica Groves (David), Julie Borgel (Brian), Jennifer Meisel (Dominic), Denver R. Browning, III and Sarah Candler (Jerry); six great grandchildren, Addisson and Mallory Borgel, Cecelia Groves, Kyleigh Garrett, Isaac Gibbs,Ellis Candler and Ellie Browning, who is on the way. She is also survived by her brother, George Victor Pollitte (Bobbie Jo) of Lewisville, TX and her sister, Leona Blue (Robert) of Benton, TN. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother William "Bill" Omar Pollitte in 2005. Funeral services for Betty Browning will be held at the Olivet UMC at 3:00 PM Friday, January 26, 2018 with Rev. Kent Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Olivet Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers please donate in her memory to Bluegrass Hospice to Bluegrass Care Navigators-Cynthiana, Harlan United Methodist Church or Olivet United Methodist Church. The arrangements are entrusted to the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
