Ruth attended Minden High School in Louisiana. She had also lived in Stockton, California, Oklahoma City, & Tahlequah, before settling in Locust Grove for the last 30 years.
On 17th of December 1957, in Minden, LA, Ruth married Clarence Austin. They were married for over 51 years.
Ruth had worked as a Wal-Mart Associate for some time. She was a dedicated homemaker, devoted wife, mother & grand-mother. She loved the lord & loved to share the gospel with everyone. Ruth enjoyed attending church & had been part of the Faith Assembly of God in Peggs OK.
She also enjoyed gardening & fishing. Ruth Loved hunting alligators with her grandchildren, storytelling, & especially spending time with her family. She lived by the motto of " Use things & love people, not love things and use people". Ruth's favorite quote as she kissed you good-bye, was "I love you, Jesus loves you, & don't let the bed bugs bite!", sending you off with a good pinch! Ruth was loved by many & will be missed by all that knew & loved Her.
Ruth is survived by: 3 daughters: Annette Brown (Johnny Ray) of Locust Grove, OK, Jeannie Secratt (James) of Tahlequah, OK, Cheryl Walkingstick (George) of Gideon OK. 1 step-son: Mitch Hargrave & wife Linda of Grandbury, TX, 11 grandchildren:
