Edith M. Monaco, a lifelong Stamford resident, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000 at Stamford Hospital. She was 81. She died of cancer, according to her family. Born June 18, 1919, in Stamford, she was a daughter of the late Bartholomew and Ann Marie Nardozza Gerardi. She is survived by her husband, James T. Monaco of Stamford; a son, William D. Monaco of Madison; a daughter, Mary Ann Colletto of Stamford; and a brother, William "Bill" Gerardi of Stamford. She was predeceased by two brothers, Daniel Gerardi and Joseph Gerardi; and two sisters, Mary Lombardo and Jennie Gerardi. Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000 at Lacerenza Funeral Home Inc., 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27 at St. Mary's Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford. Interment will follow in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford.
