Born in 1925 to Martha & Walter Poplawski, she was the youngest of five children. She lived a full life surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her children, Thomas (Roxanne), Patricia Bartowski (Michael), beloved grandchildren Mike Bartowski (Meredith Cantor-Feller), Scott & Amanda Bartowski, Holly & Aaron Herringshaw, Amanda Sakowski (James Martin), & great grandchildren Alora and Ava Herringshaw.
She was the last sibling to survive and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 70 years, Frank and never really recovered from his passing. She was also predeceased by brothers Edward & John Poplawski and sisters Sarah Flera & Agnes Bogdan.
Mom always put family above her own needs and was happy to do so. A smile was always there waiting for the opportunity to share & light up someone's day. She will be greatly missed but always lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, Babci and friend. Her wishes to remain in her own home during her illness was made possible due to the enormous love and support of her family and later with the help of Hospice. The many hospice staff that visited Helen were always caring and supportive, but Nurse Josie will always have a special place in our hearts.
Friends and family may call 4-7 pm Tuesday at the Giminski Wysocki Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30am Wednesday at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lakeland.
