Daphlin passed on December 13, 2017 in Cottage in the Meadow at age 96. She was born in Bellingham, WA to Clarence Sluder and Melvina (Wyatt) Sluder on 7/8/21. She moved with her parents to Yakima when she was 8 years old.

Daphlin married Jack A. Redfield early on in life following her high school years. From this union 2 children were born: Melvina (Cookie) and Michael. Work led the family to Klamath Falls, OR for a couple of years until returning to Yakima when Jack was drafted for World War II.

Daphlin deeply loved her family. She always enjoyed leisure times in the hills with friends and family, working in her yard and going to family gatherings for birthdays and holidays. Daphlin was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Mom, we all miss you so much, but know that you are now at peace after many years of disability and nerve pain from a truck accident. The family would also like to thank Ron D. for being a helpful, caring neighbor so many years.

Daphlin is preceded in death by her parents, son Michael, and great grandson, Jason Norman. She is survived by her daughter Cookie Irvine and son in law, Ken; 2 grandchildren Debbie Bjorklund and Linda Choyce (Jeff); 2 great grandchildren Jessica Hansen (Sam), and Lisa Bjorklund; 3 great-great grandchildren Annalisa Norman, Brynna Hansen and Sawyer Hansen.

We wish to extend our deep gratitude and thank you to all Cottage in the Meadow staff and nurses for their spectacular loving care bestowed Daphlin and the tenderness given the family.
