Funeral mass for Alfonso B. Lopez Jr, 79 of Lubbock will be at 2 pm on Friday, February 2, 2018 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Ben Kasteel officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
A rosary will be recited at 7 pm, today, Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
Mr. Lopez passed away on January 31, 2018 at his home. He was born on December 12, 1938 in Lorenzo, Texas.
Jimmy Lopez (79) was called Home on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at his residence. He was born on December 12, 1938 in Lorenzo, Texas. Jimmy completed the 6th grade but received his GED later in life. He joined the Army at the age of 19, where he earned the Good Conduct Metal. He married the love of his life Lupe Alvarado on May 16th, 1959. After moving to Lubbock, he worked at Frontier Stamps then moved on to Goulds Pumps followed by LISD for a number of years, finally settling in a career of remodeling and earned great respect within Lubbock Community.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Lupe Lopez and his five children; Jimmy Easton (Lindl), Christela Clowdus (Terry), David Lopez, Mike Lopez (Amy), Paula Lopez (Estevan Mata Jr.); 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters; Vico Deleon, Beatrice Lerma, Irene Lopez McGowan, Paula Zamora; and brothers: David Lopez and Raul Lopez.
