George Allen Brown Jr. was born and grew up on a farm near Nimrod, Texas. His Mom, Lottie Belle Harrelson, suffered complications from his birth and eventually died in 1943.

George and his Dad, George Alexander Brown then moved to Cisco where young George attended High School. There he met Wanda Fern Burnette and married her in 1944, just after their senior year. Less than a year later on Valentine's Day 1945 George joined the Navy with some of his high school buddies. Fern threw his two pound box of chocolates at him.

George served in the Pacific and was present at the battle for Okinawa. After his release from the Navy, he went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, worked for them 35 years, retiring in 1982 at the age of 55. In retirement George and Fern bought a travel trailer and spent the last ten years of his life traveling about the USA where they met many new friends.

George and Fern had two sons, Bobby Wayne and Gregg Allen who live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with their families.

In the summer of 1992, George was diagnosed with prostate cancer and died in the fall. We all miss him still.
