John was born in Everett, WA, to Lydia and John Johnson, and lived in the area his entire life. He passed away at a local Everett Hospital at the age of 71, after a brief illness.
John served in the Army for four years following high school. John worked for Simpson Lee for 18 years until they closed and then worked as a millwright for Ameron for 24 years before retiring. John was an avid hunter and fisherman and leaves behind many hunting and fishing buddies. He also loved to work in his garden, watch sports on TV and camp and Camp Grande.
He is survived by his wife, Edith, of 26 years; his brother, Frank Johnson, of Everett; children, Leiann (Scott) Foster, of Redding, CA, Elaine (Severro) Garcia, of Everett, Dean (Shelly) Johnson, of Everett, Ronald Johnson, of Marysville, WA, Lloyd (Laurie) Wickberg, of Lynnwood, WA, and Michelle (Dwain) Cochron, of Everett; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lydia Johnson; and two sons, Johnny Johnson and John Wickberg.
Viewing will be held from 9-11 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Shaffer-Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville. Services will follow at 11 a.m.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Marysville Fire Department.
