Jackie Wayne Abbott Sr.
Jackie Wayne Abbott Sr., 58, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at Johnson Memorial Hospital. He was a resident of Frank-lin. He was born Sept. 22, 1940, in Edinburgh. His father was Alva C. Abbott. His mother is Flor-ence (Roberts) Mudd of Green-wood. He married Barbara Ann Abbott. She preceded him in death Oct. 2, 1995. He married Carolyn (Baker) Abbott in June 1998. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Amanda Cox of Franklin and Rebecca Allred of Mascotte, Fla.; three sons, Jackie W. Abbott Jr. of Franklin, David C. Abbott of Trafalgar and Gene Adkins of Astatula, Fla.; three brothers, Lawson "Bud" Abbott of Nineveh, Eugene Abbott of Munford and Tony Abbott of Greenwood; two sisters, Evelyn Roy of Bargersville and Carolyn Bowman of Deltona, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Chaney and Barbara Hildebrand. He was a 1959 graduate of Franklin Community High School. He was formerly employed as a meat cutter at Mr. T's in Franklin. He was a member of Bass Masters Association. The Rev. Jim Tharpe will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hamner Cemetery.
