Manitowoc - Anthony F. Balzan Jr., age 66, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life peacefully while surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at his home.
Tony was born on June 20, 1951 in Manitowoc to the late Anthony and Marcella (Karbon) Balzan Sr. He graduated from Valders High School with the class of 1969, and then enlisted in the United States Army. Tony served his country from 1970 until his honorable discharge in 1972. On February 8, 1980, Tony married Connie Lambries at St. John's United Church of Christ in Manitowoc. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, and being in the great outdoors. Tony was a handyman and enjoyed building things for his grandchildren. Above all, he enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family and friends.
Survivors include Tony's wife, Connie; three daughters, Stephanie (Jeff) Puta, Green Bay; Erika (Jon) Garza, Manitowoc; and Heidi Balzan, Manitowoc; four grandchildren, Arabella, Brianna, Jayden, and Spencer; brother, Ray Balzan, Manitowoc; two sisters, Paula (Greg) Schneider, Manitowoc; and Lisa (Rick) Wetenkamp, Manitowoc; mother-in-law, Bernice Lambries, Manitowoc; two brothers-in-law, David (Gledi) Lambries, Green Bay; and Ken Dvorachek, Reedsville; also other relatives and friends. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Marcella; twin grandsons, James and John; father-in-law, Alvin Lambries; and sister-in-law, Debbie Dvorachek.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Matthew Sauer will officiate with burial to take place at Knollwood Memorial Gardens at a later date. Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by Drews-Bleser American Legion Post 88. Following the memorial service, a dinner for relatives and friends will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
