He was a retired professor.
His wife was Laura Luella Jones, who predeceased him.
His parents were Moses Jones, of Letart Falls, VA and Arrellia Sherwood, of Long Bottom, OH

Mr. Thomas H Jones, 87, died at a local nursing home Monday evening. Before coming to Florida, Mr. Jones was a prominent educator of the Middle West, having served on the faculty of some of the leading colleges.
Mr. Jones is survived by three sons, Shelby C. of Westfield, NY, Ralph W. of Washington, DC, and Theodore R, of Orlando, and also one sister, Alice K Wagner of San Fernando, Calif., and one brother, Charles S Jones of Brownsville, Texas, Mrs. Jones having died a few years ago. There will be no services here, but the body will be placed in vault at the Carey Hand Funeral Home, and later will be taken to Tampa for interment.
