Mr. Burns was born in Livingston County, Dec. 18, 1891, a son of Sandusky and May (Cargo) Burns. He attended the Blackhill school and was a member of Olive Branch Church. He engaged in farming for a number of years and was also employed by the Chillicothe municipal utilities. Mr. Burns returned last week from the state of Washington, where he had resided at different intervals. At the time of his illness he was residing at the Lambert Hotel.
Surviving are his brother Bolen C. Burns of Bartlesville, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Charles L. Cooper of Chillicothe, Mrs. H. O. Boyd and Mrs. Cecil Jones of Mooresville. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Mr. Burns was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and a sister." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, February 23, 1966
"Funeral services for Harry E. Burns, 74, will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon from the chapel of the Lindley Funeral Home. The Rev. Medford S. Speaker, minister of the First Baptist Church, will conduct the service. Interment will be in the Tolle Cemetery northwest of Farmersville.
