Coco was the brown male poodle of his pet parents Floyd (now deceased) and Joyce Bell of Corsicana TX.
The Bells were my neighbors across the road at a mobile home park until Floyd's mother, Lucy, gave them the money for a beautiful three-bedroom, two-car garage mobile home that can be described as being located as far out in the country as possible and still be in the state of Texas, which is where they lived with Coco and their female dog Missy.
The Bells did not have Coco when they were my neighbors but did have Missy.
Did not see the Bells as much after their move to the country so do not know how got Coco unless Joyce told me and I forgot.
Whenever I visited the Bell home, Coco and Missy got excited when they saw me as though they had seen me yesterday. I was excited too because I loved them even though not mine.
When I sat down, Coco jumped on my lap, and if Missy dared to come near Coco's prize person with an excellent lap, jealous Coco growled a warning and Missy wisely did not come " a little bit closer" (tip of the hat to the music group Jay And The Americans for the song title that fit nicely at the end of that sentence).
Don't recall if Joyce ever learned why, but Coco scratched his body often and with such force, it disturbed Joyce's REM as both dogs slept with her. Once when I spent the night during a week of vacation from my job, Coco slept with me in the spare bedroom, scratched all night, then deserted me come morning, but it was probably their chow time for Coco and Missy, and what dog prefers a prize lap to a bowl of chow? And, boy, was it prize chow for them because Joyce did not feed them the dry and/or wet dog food that pet parents usually buy.
Coco and Missy both passed on during the time I lived in Corsicana. Joyce did not mention it at the time or reveal the COD, but did inform when her husband Floyd passed on from cancer.
Joyce planned not ever again raising pet children because she yearned to travel and do whatever she pleased without animal children needing her care.
But because Joyce lived in the country, (Floyd had passed on by then ) sadly people dumped their animals in the vicinity of Joyce's mobile home, and to her credit, although unhappy about it, she fed them but would not allow any of them inside her mobile home. Believe at one point she had five cats living on her property and not happy about it. Joyce, that is, but the cats probably not happy about their human families abandoning them without a care to the fates.
Missy and Coco most likely greeted Floyd when he crossed over.
