Harry G. Rouse, 87, formerly of rural Galesburg, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at the Care Center of Abingdon, where he was a resident.

Harry was born in Ellisville May 26, 1919 to Lewis M. and Bessie Douglas Rouse. He married Frances M. Smith on October 13, 1944 in Galesburg. She survives.

Also surviving is one daughter, Jane (and David) Wooten; and one sister, Joanna (and husband, Russell) Smith.

He was adopted by Ellis W. Johnson, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, Dale Rouse, three sisters, Gladys Rouse, Edna Ludwig and Isabelle Rouse.

He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Bushnell American Legion Post #2004.

He worked at Butler Manufacturing in Galesburg for 35 years, retiring in 1979.

He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
