John was a long time resident of Everett, Massachusetts. He was the husband of Anna M. (Rossi) O'Toole and father to Patricia A. Gill, Maureen A. Galeota, Frank M. O'Toole, and Martin J. O'Toole, all of Everett, Massachusetts. John was the son of Edith (Sharpe)(O'Toole) Tuomey of Everett, and the late John L. O'Toole. Brother of Edith Armstrong of Everett, and Ruth Rexford of Lynnfield. Stepbrother of Arlene Tuomey of Malden, Mass.
John is also survived by three grandchildren.
John was a member of the Everett Lodge of Elks #642. Member of the American Legion #176, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars #834.

John, my John, it seems so long since you've been gone.
It was December 12, 1974 when our lord called your name and he opened his door.
He took you from us for a long painless rest.
But he also took the very best.
A piece of each of hearts went along with you.
Never to be forgotten our whole lives through.
