However, six months later on September 24 Martha weds Davis Haisley in Wayne County, Indiana. ( US Quaker Meeting Records 1681-1935). Obviously the Fowler/Dennis marriage didn't "stick" and was possibly annulled. Perhaps, because their union was not sanctioned by the church. Just a guess.
Second married Katie Besser, daughter of John Peter Besser and Anna Maria Braunshausen. Jeremiah and Katie married April 15, 1864 in Keokuk County, Iowa. One daughter from this union, Clara Agnes Fowler, 1866-1911. Clara married Michael Fell. Katie second married Jacob P. Lahr.
