Morton Darius Weddel 1880-1943
Funeral services for Morton D. Weddel, who died here Friday, August 6, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wartman funeral home at Ashland. Burial was in St. Agnes cemetery. He was a retired conductor for the Chicago and Northwestern Railway, retiring in 1942 after 45 years of service. In late years he was on runs between Ashland and Anitgo. He was born January 14, 1880 at Lexington, Mich., and attended schools in Manistique. He married the former Francis Moore June 9, 1942. Survivors are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Mack Magnuson, Washington Island, and Mary Louise, Milwaukee, and two brothers. Attorney Fred Weddel, Aitken, Minn., and Louis, Minneapolis.
