Erwin; daughter, Jennifer Banks (Danny); grandchildren, Bethany Armstrong (Jason), Chris Banks (Jessica) and Austin Banks; great-grandchild, Logan Armstrong; sisters-in-law, Gail Martin (Ronald); Sandra Foster (Barry), and Judy Hasty (Charles); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ed was born on February 7, 1933 in Marion County, AL.
After serving in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1953 he was a Sheet Metal Craftsman for 57 years through Local 48 of Birmingham, AL. Ed was baptized as a young man at his hometown church, Winfield Church of Christ, and was a current attender of Northport Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, dad, granddad, great granddad, uncle, and friend.
Services will be held at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2018 with Rev. Ron Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Church Cemetery in Brookwood, AL. The family request for attendees to “Wear Red for Ed”. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Hallman, Tommy Aston, Danny Hallman, Danny Mills, Curtis Hallman, Chase Newton, Tommy Brookshire, and Joey Erwin.
