Catherine "Ruth" Higdon, 85, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2003, at Jewish Hospital.

She was the former Catherine Heavrin, a native of Meade County, KY, and a former employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. She was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, four sons and daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, 24 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Robert Higdon, and two beloved daughters, Wanda Crabtree and Pamela Mulligan.

Her funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outer Loop, with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Saturday and 1-8 p.m. Sunday at Arch L. Heady & Son-Okolona.
