Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2016 at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Emary Lee Adams, 91, of Youngstown, who entered eternal rest on Monday, December 19 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
He was born March 31, 1925 in Newton, Ga., a son of Emary Sr. and Elizabeth Willingham Adams. He married the love of his life, Idella Adams, on November 13, 1948. They were united for 67 years until her death on Feb. 2, 2016. Emary was a faithful member of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church where he was on the deacon’s board, served as church treasurer, performed maintenance for the church and was a driver for the church van. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Emary found joy in watching all types of sports and various games. He will be deeply missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Ryan Adams of Arizona and Rahard Adams of Texas; one sister, Charsie Randoff of Mich.; six grandchildren, including caregiver Sekerak Sewell, Kathy Sewell-Richardson, Charles and Emary Jr. Sewell, Harry Green and Idella Sewell; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents; his loving wife; one sister, Louise Jackson; and two brothers, Thomas and Benjamin Adams.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 10-11:00 a.m. at the church.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
