Two Rivers - John R. Magill, age 59, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 in Fayetteville, N.C.

John was born on December 1, 1958 in Flora, IL, son of the late Guy and Jean (Manson) Magill Jr. He was a retired military veteran. John enlisted in the U.S. Army after high school, joining the 82nd Airborne. Complications from a parachute drop accident led to finishing his career as a reservist. For decades underwater scuba diving was a strong passion of his. Achieving master instructor status, he taught many students to enjoy the sport safely. As an avid military history enthusiast reading countless books, researching and visiting museums battle sites and memorials was a lifelong activity.

Survivors include three brothers: Guy Magill III, Two Rivers; Mark Magill, Navarre, FL; Daniel (Tammy) Magill, Two Rivers. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place and a Visitation for John will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Burial will take place at Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers at a later date.
