Early Los Angeles Electrical Contractor and Businessman. Wilfred I. Keese came to California in 1886, and was the owner of the W. I. Keese Electrical Company during the 1900s. During the 1890s, he was a partner in the Rhodes and Keese Electric Company, one of the first electrical supply houses in Los Angeles, with his brother Samuel J. Keese, an electrical engineer who later worked for Westinghouse. He was also active in the mining business, co-owner of the Western Colonization Company in 1906. Son of Richard and Gulielma Keese. Husband of Kate Hance, they married in Ohio in 1871 and moved their family to Chicago before coming to Los Angeles. From his obituary in the Los Angeles Times, Dec. 14, 1936.
