Manitowoc - Dorothy A. Poradek, age 85, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.
Dorothy was born on July 31, 1932 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Dewane) Golata. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1951. On November 10, 1956 she married Robert Poradek at St. Marys Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1988. When her kids were in school, Dorothy would work for Lakeside Foods. She was a member of TOPS - as a Weight Recorder and the Eagles Auxiliary. Dorothy enjoyed music and traveling, especially after her retirement.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Roberta Poradek and Alejandro Lazaro, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Nicholas and Anne Poradek, Appleton; three grandchildren: Joshua Poradek, Appleton, Ashley (Ben) Van Dreel, Stevens Point, and Eric Poradek, Appleton; three great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Elaina and Brayden; and one brother and sister-in-law: John and Beth Golata, Morton Grove, IL. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one son: Philip Poradek; and one brother and sister-in-law: Joseph and Della Golata.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, (1416 Grand Ave) Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Pleier with cremation to follow at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Dorothy's cremated remains will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
