Helen Marie (Coleman) Mechling, 97, of Lafayette, died in Regency Place on March 2, 2007. Born in Lafayette on December 20, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Clyde C. and Dora (Gibson) Coleman. She resided in Chicago and Lima, OH before returning to Lafayette in 1945. She was a 1927 graduate of Morgan Park High School in Chicago. She was the office manager at WBAA Purdue radio station for 27 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Surviving is a son, Loran McMaster (wife, Diana) of Romney; and two daughters, Carole Collison (husband, James) and Janice Gantz (husband, Bob) all of Lafayette. Surviving are 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Richard L. McMaster.
