CARL CONNER, 70, of Roganville, passed away March 10, 2007 at his home. A native of Oklahoma City, OK, he was a former resident of Lufkin, but had lived in Roganville for 21 years. Mr. Conner was an avid member of the NRA in which he served on the Second Amendment Task Force, a member of the VFW, DAV, and American Legion. He was also a US Marine Corp Veteran, and was retired from the US Army after more than 20 years of service.

Military Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Friendship Cemetery in Roganville under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home of Jasper. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Forest Oaks. Survivors, among others, include his wife of 27 years, Mary Lou Conner of Roganville. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be directed toward the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or toward the National Rifle Assn. 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.
