Mr. Albert P. Auricchio, 86, of Gloversville, passed away at his residence on August 28, 2013.

Mr. Auricchio was born October 29, 1926, in Gloversville, son of the late Louis and Anna Montigulio Auricchio.

He was educated in Gloversville schools and served in the Marine Corps during WWII as an aviator and mechanic.

Following his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, Albert returned to Gloversville and began working in various glove shops. After a short time, he seized an opportunity to join the former General Telephone Company. As Albert continued to advance through the company's internal technical and educational programs, he realized an interest and aptitude with computers. As technology continued to evolve, Albert progressed as well. Retiring in 1983 from what is currently Verizon, he was a technical advisor for the computer upgrade system.

Albert was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, where he served as an altar boy at the former Mt. Carmel Church during his childhood. He was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 642 and enjoyed flying his co-owned airplane at the Fulco Airport in his earlier years.

A devoted family man, Albert was especially proud of his early retirement, which afforded him many new opportunities with his family. He enjoyed traveling and craft woodworking as a hobby. He also was a fine cook and developed his own website for quick Italian meals called "aldente." He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Margaret Palloni of Gloversville, Albert A. Auricchio (Michele) of Scotia and Robert Auricchio and his companion, Ruth, of Syracuse. He is also survived by a brother, Arthur Auricchio (Josephine) of Broadalbin; grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Andrew, Albert, Rachel, Mike, Casie, Chris; several nieces and nephews.

Earlier this year, Albert was pre-deceased by his wife, Margaret Good Auricchio, whom he married January 18, 1950. He was also pre-deceased by his siblings, Rose Vertucci, Mary Barzyk, James and Carl Auricchio.

Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
