Services for C. L. Roy Stewart, 78, of Lubbock will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Marvin James officiating. Burial will be at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. Roy died Monday, April 2, 2007. He was born on July 22, 1928, in Seymour, to the late Ollie Roy (1979) and Neelie Stewart (1979). Roy married Polly Biggerstaff Lewis on Nov. 27, 1992, in Clyde. He was retired trucker for ICX Motor Freight Lines. He was member of the Masonic Lodge. Roy is preceded in death by a son, Roy James Stewart in 1988; three brothers, Donald Stewart, Ray Stewart, and J. P. Stewart; and a grand daughter, Lakin Melvin; in 1997.
Roy is survived by his wife of Lubbock; a son, Jerry Lewis of Lubbock; three daughters, Sue and husband Leroy Dennis, Diane Bagwell, and Kay and husband Billy Jackson, all of Lubbock; a sister, Letha Williams of Ft. Worth; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Leroy Dennis, Billy Jackson, Brit Bentley, Kelly Allan, Billy Jackson, Jr., and Kenny Hershman.
The Stewart family will receive family and friends Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Calvillo Funeral Home, 206 E. 19th Street.
