Sandy was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Saturday, October 2, 1948, the daughter of Orville and Valory (Dutton) Fairfield. She attended school in Kenosha until the age of fifteen when her family moved to Rhinelander. She met her future husband Robert England in Rhinelander and the couple were married on June 26, 1965 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Rhinelander. The couple moved to South Milwaukee where they lived for one and a half years before moving back to Rhinelander.
Sandy was employed by Channel 12 for thirteen years. She had also been employed at the Taj Mahal, Claridge, Walmart, and Rhinelander Paper Mill where she worked in the canteen.
Sandy was a member of the Oneida County ATV Club where she had been Treasurer. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, mowing the lawn and sewing.
Surviving is her husband; Robert England Sr., children; Rick (Kathy) England of Rhinelander, Robert England Jr. and fiancé, Jessica Barber of Rhinelander and Ruth England and Jerry Pederson of Rhinelander, nine grandchildren and the tenth on the way, twenty five great-grandchildren and three brothers; Wayne (Ginger) Fairfield of Rhinelander, Gary Fairfield of Rhinelander and Terry (Dawn) Fairfield of Glendale, Alabama. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Ralph Fairfield and one sister; Rosalynn A. Fairfield.
The visitation for Sandy will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service. Larry Mathein will be officiating.
Immediately following the service, there will be a procession to Northland Memorial Park for the committal service.
