LT Col. Halbert H. Acker III of Myrtle Beach, SC; died at the age of 56. He was the son of the late Dr. Halbert H. Acker II. and Florence (Moore) Acker. Also survivng besides his mother is his wife, Marguerite (Crawford) Acker. Also his brother Dr. Harry L. Acker and his wife Sara. Enlisting on June 25, 1941, Hal was a U.S. Air Force (Army Air Corp) Veteran of three wars, WW II, Korean and Vietnam Wars. Retiring from his 24 years of service on Feb. 28, 1965. He was born in Anderson, SC; on March 5. 1914. Burial will be in the Southern Palms Memorial Gardens, North Myrtle Beach, SC.
