Myron Holley Boyd was born in 1844 in Leroy NY to Thomas Parsons Boyd and Anna Steele. They moved back to Greigsville NY in 1850 to be near his grandfather Thomas Boyd. He spent 30 days with Company G in the civil war in 1863. His brother Edward Elisha Boyd was not so lucky. Edward died on July 8 , 1862 at Harrison's Landing, Virginia only 9 months into a 3 year enlistment with Company B, the 100th infantry. 1865 was the year Myron was converted in the church. In 1868 Myron is listed with his father in a Livingston County farm directory as having 225 acres. Myron married Mary Helen Johnson on October 6, 1869. A day before Mary H Johnson's cousin Burton Rensselaer Jones married Myron's sister Ella Boyd. Myron and Mary had 9 children: Anna Grace (1872) (DeLaVergne)
Hattie Louisa (1873) (Fisher)
Jennie Marina (1875) (McCormick)
Holly Parsons Boyd (1877)
Howard Steele Boyd (1879)
Edward Pliny Boyd (1883)
Fordyce Walter Boyd (1884)
Harold Leslie Boyd (1887)
Bertha Marguerite (1892)(Stoner)
In 1878 Myron took over the family farm after his father's death. He was recognized as a Deacon and sometimes referenced as a Reverend, devoted and humble. A railroad line was built in 1880 extending north and south through their property cutting off access to their home from their driveway (Boyd Lane). He died January 12, 1916 while he and his wife were keeping house in Castile NY for their son Harold, who had just purchased another farm. Myron's obituary notes him as a very devoted Christian, true husband, kind father, and a good neighbor, liberal and generous to a fault.
