Mary Helen Johnson was born to Fordyce Johnson and Mary Ann Osbon in 1848 in Mendon, StJoseph county, Michigan. Her mother died of typhoid fever in 1850 and her father was unable to care for her, so her grandparents Richard and Esther Osbon of Leicester NY took her in and raised her. She went to school at acclaimed Temple Hill in Geneseo NY. She married in 1869 to Myron H Boyd. Also called Nellie (nickname for Helen) in church records and some newspaper articles. She was listed in her Aunt Louise (Osbon) McBurney's will in 1901. Nellie and her son Holly Parsons Boyd received half of their Aunt Louise's assets. Mary lived with her son Howard in 1920 after her husband's death in 1916. She died April 17, 1930 while she was residing with her daughter Bertha and son in-law Jay Stoner in West Sparta NY.
Mary Helen Johnson and Myron Boyd married on October 6, 1869; A day before Mary H Johnson's cousin Burton Rensselaer Jones married Myron's sister Ella Boyd. Myron and Nellie had 9 children: Anna Grace (1872) (DeLaVergne)
