Betty 'Pauline' Cope passed away Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Nampa Care Center. Pauline was born in Star, Idaho on Dec. 11, 1919 the oldest child and only daughter of Martin and Mary (Newton) Blevins. Pauline was raised on a farm in the Kuna area and graduated from Kuna High School. Pauline met and married Lynn Cope on Dec. 1, 1938 in Exeter, Calif. This past December they celebrated 67 years of marriage. In 1942 they had a son, Gary, and in 1944 another son, Bob. Lynn and Pauline farmed in the Kuna area for many years, but then chose to follow in the construction business, moving to Oregon and Idaho. Pauline always found work in the kitchen as a cook upon their many moves. Pauline was known as a hard worker. Pauline and her family settled in Nampa, where Pauline worked at Simplot´s for 29 years. Upon retiring, Pauline went on a tour of the East Coast and Canada, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Pauline took pleasure in her garden and rose bushes. Pauline is survived by her loving husband, Lynn; her son, Bob (Cheryl); and daughter-in-law, Betty. Six grandchildren, Danna (Dennis) Pittman, Gary (Pam) Cope, Darrick (Lisa) Cope, Leslie (Steve) Robinson, Bret (Jacque) Cope, and Paul (Rosalie) Cope and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Kenneth (Norma) Blevins and one niece, Sherry (Jim) Hutchings. Pauline was preceded by in death by her son, Gary in 1996, her parents and one brother, Paul. The family would like to thank those at Clearwater Assisted Living and Nampa Care Center for their loving care the last five months. Pauline was an independent woman and didn´t ask a lot of others. To our wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma: you are resting peacefully and we know you are in a better place. You will be our angel from above and guide us through life. We love you and you will be missed. Graveside services for Pauline will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007, at 1 p.m. in the Kuna Cemetery, Kuna, ID. Arrangements are under the direction of Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel (404 10th Ave. So., Nampa).
