Richard "Ricky Lee" Bassett, 68, Hamilton, Mo., passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center, Cameron, Mo.
Rick was born on April 13, 1949, in Garden City, Kansas, to Loren and Betty (Hubbard) Bassett. He was a 1968 Penney High School, Hamilton, graduate. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and retired from the military in 1991 after 23 years of service to his country. After retirement from the military, he worked for Charlie Ford Trenching and Backhoe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters-Florence Daniel and Barbara Stanton.
On May 25, 2002, he married Robin South at their home in Hamilton. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors: Brother-Robert Gordon (Denise) Bassett, Bogard, Mo.; 2 daughters-Sheryl Bassett and Erica Gates, both of St. Joseph, Mo.; 3 grandchildren; 6 nieces and nephews; Step-son-Ira Savely, Phoenix, AZ; Aunt-Doris Herron, Topeka, Ks; In-laws-Donald and Norma South, Kidder, Mo.; Brothers-in-law-Floyd (Lonnie) South, Newport News, Va., and David (Wendy) South, Grand Island, Nebraska; and his dog-Puppy Joe.
Cremation entrusted to Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.
