Jess A. Axline, 68, of Lowden, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018, on his farm near Lowden.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday March 2, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday March 3, at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden with Reverend Stephen Stepp officiating. Burial will be in the Lowden Cemetery, Lowden, Iowa, with military rites.

Jess A. Axline was born September 5, 1949, in Anamosa, the son of Joseph Sr., and Melva (Jayne) Axline. He married Debra Lyn Wenndt on May 4, 1974, at Zion UCC in Lowden. He was a life long farmer, a workaholic and a generous man. He drove for RVH Trucking part-time and enjoyed being on the farm. He loved his family, children, grandchildren and his dog Max.

He is survived by his wife, Debra; one son, Darin (Janelle) of Lowden; two daughters, Angela (Dustin) Peet of Cedar Rapids and Sheila (Travis) Bowling of Maquoketa; six grandchildren, Emma and Caden Axline, Tatum and Antin Peet, and Jadyn and Easton Bowling; three brothers, Joseph Axline Jr., of Manchester, Terry Axline of Hiawatha, and Dale (Lana) Axline of Lowden; three sisters, Neta Coonradt of Solon, Marilyn (David) Merrill of Anamosa and Patricia Axline of Cedar Rapids; and his dog, Max.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and Steven Axline and three sisters, Judy Medberry, Diane Saddoris and Lola Tatro.
