Kenneth “Kenny” “Mike” Barnes, age 69 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 26, 2018.

He was born April 19, 1948 in Lima to Kenneth E. and Cuba L. (Hartzog) Barnes. He grew up in Van Wert, Ohio, and graduated from Van Wert High School in 1966. Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1970. He attended Defiance College and retired from BF Goodrich in 2005, after 35 years of service. He was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.

Kenneth enjoyed reading and studying God’s word. He loved to golf and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was active in the lives of his grandchildren and loved attending their sports events and activities.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marsha; a daughter, Jennifer (Lonnie) Leaman, Paulding; sons, Brian (Joni) Barnes, Bryan, and Jeremy (Brandi) Barnes, Paulding; 9 grandchildren: Sabrinah, Abigail, Hannah, Sarah, Eli, Aidan, Arianna, Braylon, and Xander; 3 sisters, Melody Long, Van Wert, Marsha (Mike) Elliott, Middlefield, OH, and Marjean (Dave) Warren, Delphos.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Mitchell and Marlan.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, March 3 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. He will be laid to rest in Paulding Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 – 8 PM Friday, March 2 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. There will also be visitation on Saturday from 10 AM until time of services.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
