William Meadows, an aged resident of East Beckley, died last Friday forenoon of heart trouble and complications incident to his advanced age which developed during the early fall and had kept him in ill health for some months past. Death was very sudden and wholly unexpected. The aged man had just breakfasted and walked to the next room where he was sitting by the fire. He called to his wife who hurried to his side and found him dead.
The aged couple were both members of the Primitive Baptist church, and a very good old couple loved and respected by a host of friends and neighbors who were entirely unprepared for the news the old man's departure from this life.
He had been a life-long resident of Raleigh county, and Mrs Meadows, before her marriage, was a Miss Lane of Flattop, this county.
Funeral services were held here Sunday afternoon at the residence of the aged couple and interment followed in Wildwood cemetery.
