                          DEATHS
    Estella "Sally" L. King, 87, of Hiawatha, died Friday, Nov. 1, 1996 at a local nursing home. She was born March 2, 1909 at Goodland, Ks., the daughter of Bert and Mary Whitman Kistner. She had lived in the Hiawatha area her entire life and had been an operator for United Telephone for 25 years.
    Mrs. King was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Sabetha.
    She was married to Clarence Swearingen at Falls City, Neb. on Dec. 7, 1929. He died in 1963. She married Frank King Sr. on Nov. 17, 1964 at Hiawatha. He preceded her in death in 1975.
    Survivors include two sons, Frank "Doodle" King Jr. and Ward King, both of Hiawatha; one daughter, Frances Wood of Topeka; two sisters, Maxine Tinsley, Hiawatha and Betty Kempton, Topeka; nine grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 4, 10:30 a.m., at Schroeder's Brown County Mortuary in Hiawatha. Burial was in the Hiawatha Cemetery.
