Edward T. Akers, 78, of 627 Warren Place, died in Tompkins County Hospital.
Mr. Akers was the owner of Auto Body and Radiator Works, retiring in 1953.
He was a member of the American Legion, Lambs Club, United Commercial Travelers, Hobasco Lodge, F & AM, Scottish Rite of Ithaca and Binghamton and the City Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nelle Akers; and several cousins.
The funeral officiant will be the Rev. David Talbot, St. John's Episcopal Church, Ithaca. Interment will be in East Lawn Cemetery. The Wagner Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
