Josephine attended St. Anthony grade school, Bishop Muldoon High and West High School, graduating in 1958. On May 8, 1961, Josephine married Frank A. Carmona at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rockford. Together Josephine and Frank raised six children.
Josephine was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She sang as a tenor in the adult choir at church and was also a member of the Italian Chorale of Rockford. She was active in the St. Anthony/St. Francis Consolidated School System.
Josephine was employed by Winnebago County for 14 years as the Deputy Circuit Clerk until the start of their family business, Carmona Gear Cutting in 1984.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards and board games, crossword puzzles, fishing, gardening and watching the birds.
Lovingly survived by: husband, Frank; children, Frank, Francine (Mark) Skaug, Donald, Denise (Darryl) Andrus, Victor and Robert (Lisa) Carmona; grandchildren, Michele, Anthony, Valerie, Jessie, Melissa, Mandy, Kelly, Marcus, Robert, Jacob and Taylor; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Victor (Dawna) Dalosto; sister, Maria (John) Kenney.
Predeceased by: parents; and sister, Ellen Macias.
Funeral Mass Monday, October 16 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
