Maxine C. Coon, 90, of Winterset, Iowa, formerly of Winnebago, Nebraska and South Sioux City, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014.
Burial will be in Dakota City, Neb., at a later date.

Maxine was born July 11, 1923, in Walthall, Neb., the daughter of Russell and Alga (Mills) Huff.
She lived most of her life in Winnebago and South Sioux City. In 2012, she moved to Winterset to be near her family.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth (Lynne) Boyd of Winterset; grandchildren, Jonette Kowalk of Bradenton, Fla., April (Lonnie) Kirk of El Paso, Texas, Jason Boyd of Sioux City, and Eric Bethard of Geneseo, Ill.; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Stough, Darrin Bethard and Faith Boyd; siblings, Joyce Hughes, Jane Ballard, Edith Schmeizer and Wesley (Rose) Huff, all of Arizona; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth Huff, and husbands, Harold Boyd and Kenneth Coon.
Memorial may be directed to Middle River Hospice of Winterset.
