Obituary for William "Bill" Robert Williams Sr.
Greensboro- William Robert “Bill” Williams, Sr., age 83, passed away on February 23, 2018. A Memorial Mass will be held 10 A.M. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 109 W. Smith Street, Greensboro, NC. There will be a visitation on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Forbis and Dick Funeral Home, 1118 N. Elm Street.

Bill was born on January 5, 1935 in Erlanger, KY to William and Peggy Williams. He met the love of his life, Nina Rueff in Louisville, KY in 1951 and they were married on June 4, 1955. Bill was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. After his discharge, Bill and Nina moved to Miami, FL where they started their family. In 1975 Bill was relocated to Greensboro by his employer of 35 years, NCR.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, his grandchildren Kenny Kitts, Tyler Hyatt, Kendall and Ashley Williams, Robert Parsons, and great grandson Camden Kitts.

Surviving is his wife Nina; sister, Sally Hoback of Louisville, KY; five children, Dawn Kogutkiewicz (Tommy) of Elgin, SC, Patricia Lunsford (Chris) of Frederick, MD, Bill Williams Jr. (Carolyn) and Kathy Hyatt (Thomas) of Greensboro, NC, Susie Parsons (Jason) of Jamestown, NC; Eight grandchildren, David Kitts (Cassie), Jebb Bethune, Kaitlyn and William Williams III, TJ and Bryan Hyatt, Grace, JJ and Walker Parsons and great grandson Easton Kitts.

Bill was a quiet man with a big heart and a kind and gentle spirit. He was the best husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved his family unconditionally. He loved his son-in-laws and his daughter-in-law as if they were his own children. His biggest joy in life was watching his children and grandchildren participate in their various activities.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to NC Special Olympics Guilford Greensboro 3409 West Wendover Ave Greensboro NC 27407
