1958 obituary. Arthur L Lilly, 76, of 493 Ocean Ave., died early this morning in a local hospital after a long illness. Born in Woolwich, Dec. 20, 1881, he was the son of Mrs. Alice Lewis Lilly and the late George F. Lilly. He attended Woolwich schools and was a graduate of Gray's Business College here. He worked 10 years at the Bath Iron Works, where he learned his trade as a steamfitter. Mr. Lilly moved to Portland in 1918 and worked as a steamfitter for various local plumbing firms until his retirement in 1957. He was a charter member of Cornerstone Lodge, AP & AM, and a member of Local 217, Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Gertrude Thompson Lilly, formerly of Bath; his mother, living in Portland; two sons, Kenneth L., Eliot: and George R., Portland; six grandchildren. and 12 great-grandchildren. The Rev. J. Edward Elliott, associate minister of Woodfords Congregational Church will officiate at funeral services at 2 p. m. Wednesday at 3 William St. Burial will be in Brooklawn Memorial Park.
