Sister Beatrice entered the Religious Teachers Filippini Sept 12, 1955 and received the habit Aug. 16,1956. She earned a B.S. degree in Art from Columbia University in 1968 and an MA degree in Religious Education from Providence College in 1976. In 1977 Sr. was a member of the Camden Diocesan Pastoral Councel, and in 1999 she was appointed to the Camden Commission of the RCIA. Sister produced oil paintings, designed banners, painted religious statues. and created scenery and props for school plays. She taught the 6th and 7th grades in Our Lady of Peace School, Maywood,. NJ, St. Francis Xavier School in Newark, NJ and Villa Victoria, Trenton NJ. She served as a local superior and school principal at Our Lady of Good Council, Pompton Plains, Blessed Scrament School, Paterson, NJ and as a local superior at Paul VI Convent, Haddenfield NJ and at St Joseph Convent Hammonton, NJ. Sr. taught art and theology in St. Joseph High School Hammonton NJ Villa Victoria, Trenton NJ, Paul VI High School Haddonfield NJ and VIlla Walsh Morristown NJ.Her last assignment was Pastorial Minister at St. Gerard Majella Parish, Paterson, NJ. In the year 2000, Sister was admitted to the infirmary at Villa Walsh, and, after a long illness, God called her home on January 11, 2007. Sister Beatrice showed us what it means to identify with Jesus in his passion and death...And this is what Sister presents to God this day, a multi colored life lived in faithful service to God, to the Church, and to the community of Sisters of Saint Lucy Filippini, a life trimmed in gold. May she rest in peace. Sister was a faithful daughter of St. Lucy Filippini.
