Hazleton Plain Speaker; Wednesday, August 19, 1959:
Fred Alderson, 46, of 200 Spring street, Scranton, died suddenly at his home last night at 6 o'clock following an illness of several months. Born in Luzerne, April 13, 1913, he was a son of Fred H. and Edna (Kester) Alderson. Prior to moving to Scranton five years ago, he had resided in Hazleton for 25 years. He was employed as a salesman for Megargee Brothers Paper Co., Scranton. While in Hazleton he was employed by the Haddock Mining Co. He was a member of Green Ridge Presbyterian Church, Scranton, the Allentown Lions Club and the Anthracite Printing House Craftsmens Club, Scranton.

Surviving are his wife, the former Alice Roth, a daughter, Louise, at home; and a sister, Mrs. Elva Dravick, RD 2, Dallas.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Bachman funeral home, West Broad street, this city. Rev. Dr. Frederick B. Crane, pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church, will conduct the services. Interment will be in the Vine Street Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
