Boy Drowns –
Wash Lemasters received a message Wednesday stating that his grandson, Chester Harold Lemasters, had lost his life by drowning at Flora. Master Chester was about four years old and was a son of Hal Lemasters. The boy fell from a bridge into a creek which runs near the home. Mr. Lemasters left for Flora upon receiving word.

Indiana State Board of Health Certificate of Death No. 92 for Flora Carroll County records that Chester H. Lamaster [sic], white male, age 4y 4m 12ds, died on December 10 1913 near Flora Indiana. The cause of death was "Accidental Drowned [sic] by falling in creek." He was the son of H. W. Lamaster [sic], born in Indiana, and Mary Hogler, born in Illinois. The informant was Mrs. Lemaster [sic] of Flora Indiana.

[His Death Certificate says that he was buried in Benton County Illinois on December 13, 1913, but burial records for Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin Johnson County records he was buried in a double grave on or around January 1 1914 with Martha Aminette Lemasters. They are in the plot of their grandfather, D. Washington Lemasters.]

Greenlawn Before 1927 by Alan Jones states: Martha Lemasters, white female, buried in a double grave with Chester Lemasters, on or around January 1 1914 in Section 15 Lot 4. (Copied from Book 2 page 33. This double burial is recorded as one double entry in Book 2, but as two ditto-marked "Lemasters" entries in Book 1 page 112, without first names or gender.)

On December 19 1913, the Franklin Democrat reported that Wash Lemasters's four year old grandson had drowned near his home in Flora, Indiana the week before.
