Ada Arlene Connor, faithful servant of the Lord, went to Heaven January 29, 2018. She was born in Manchester, KS to John T. and Grace Agnes Connor April 8, 1926. She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded by her brothers Lawrence, Charles and Ernie and her sisters Laverne Wasinger Klein, Violet Sims and Betty Faber Knoll.
She taught in rural schools in Kansas for 2 years before attending business college in Wichita and then traveled west with her brother and sister-in-law Charles and Lorene. She settled in Boise to attend Boise Bible College and met a fellow student, Muriel Cross, who was her best friend for seventy years until her death August 5, 2017. They were music lovers and talented musicians and dedicated their personal lives to music ministry.
Ada played for gospel choirs, quartets and trios and was the pianist for her church for many years.
She began a 36-year career in 1952 with Albertsons, Inc. and retired from the executive staff in 1988. She loved her years there and maintained friendships that began there until her death. She traveled throughout the world as well as the United States.
Her life goal, undoubtedly achieved, was to someday hear the Lord say "Well done my good and faithful servant." His light shone through her to countless others.
She was strong in character and dealt with many losses and health challenges in an inspiring manner. She was humble, an encourager, and had a delightful sense of humor which made her a joy to spend time with. She built others up in a positive manner and inspired others to be the best they could be through her example. She was greatly loved and respected and is oh so missed, and those of us in that boat can be comforted that there was great rejoicing when lovely Ada entered those pearly gates.
Her ashes will be scattered at Dry Creek Cemetary and her name, along with Muriel's, are being chiseled onto the memorial boulders at the scattering area.
